We run three different workshops for year 6s throughout the year at Christmas, Easter and towards the end of the Summer term.

Christmas Unwrapped

An interactive morning where students can explore the story of Jesus’ birth, which Christians celebrate each year at Christmas. The students are encouraged to compare what they know about Jesus’ birth with what the Bible says. The students also have the opportunity to do a craft and ask our volunteers questions about Christmas, what Christians believe and how Christians celebrate Jesus’ birth.

Easter Cracked

A drama-filled morning joining in the events leading up to Jesus’ death as told in the Bible. We have a quiz, a craft and as with Christmas Unwrapped, the students will have the opportunity to see what the Bible says about the events around Easter. Students will also have time to consider some of the widely accepted explanations for what happened to Jesus after he died.

It’s Your Move

Using Scripture Union’s book “It’s Your Move“, students have time to reflect on what will be some of the changes, challenges and choices they will face as they move on to secondary school. They’ll have the opportunity to look back on their time at primary school, and share in small groups what they’re looking forward to and what they’re worried about. We try to have a year 11 or 13 student with us to who can answer some of the students questions about secondary school. We work with your local church to provide the books as gifts to each of the students.
